Metal For Hire

Half Hour Episodic, Comedy

Metal is dead! It's time to find real jobs. But this band isn't changing their style.

Concept

A comedy about staying true to yourself and never giving up on your dreams, even if they are a bit unrealistic.

This band, or as they like to call themselves, “Disemboweled Decaying Rotting Nocturnal Corpse” has big dreams of a world tour. But their “tour van” was repossessed and they’ve just been kicked out of the only venue they’ve ever played at, aka their shitty apartment.

Now they are taking the bus and living with their bassist’s mom, but she doesn’t mind. She’s just so happy to have her baby boy home again. A 9pm curfew and a home filled with knickknacks and potpourri is sure to kill their vibe.

They need money, and they need it fast. The only income they ever had was the result of a hefty legal settlement when one of them got hit by a mail truck, but that ran out quickly.

Rather than lay out in the middle of the road again and hope for the best, they’ve decided to get real jobs.

Just one problem, none of them have ever had a real job before. Their drummer secretly got a master’s degree in astrophysics, as a backup plan in case music didn’t work out. However, the rest of the band doesn’t see how he could make much money by “reading horoscopes”.

So, they don their leather pants, spiked bracelets, and corpse face paint, and try their hand at every job they can find. Fast food restaurant, roller rink, lifeguard, dog groomer, each attempt even more disastrous than the last.

All while never losing sight of their dream, and refusing to let a conformist society change them. Even if it means the world gives them hell, they are always ready to give it right back!
